LOOKING UP TO NEW CULINARY HEIGHTS
Present for the first time at Doha Taste and Fun Food Festival organised by Qatar Tourism Authority, The Torch Doha impressed audiences with their savory dishes. Chef de cuisine Hani Mohamed participated in the Italian themed inter-hotel competition and was awarded a Gold Medal for his performance. Competitors were each given a mystery black box with raw ingredients to be used to prepare an Italian dish. The competition was announced to be fierce, as the other two participants were highly-skilled Italian chefs.

Chef Hani managed to prepare two Italian pasta dishes - Fettuccine with smoked salmon and fresh cream sauce and Fettuccine with shrimps and tomato basil sauce. Participants were also equipped with blenders and mixers for the sauces but Chef Hani decided to prepare the sauce by hand only - knife-cut, for extra flavour.

Members of the jury enjoyed Hani's gastronomical treat and were impressed with his decision to deliver two different dishes in one hour.
DIYAFA SALON CULINAIRE AWARD 2011

On his second day participating in the Chocolate Showpiece Competition, Rodel pushed himself and was awarded a Silver Medal for his The beginner chocolate piece, for which he had less than one month preparation. Salon Culinaire 2011 at Diyafa was a real success for The Torch Doha representative.
